If you have a specific query regarding upgrades not listed here, or if you need more help please do not hesitate to e-mail Pico on:

picoeducation@aol.com

The links below will download the upgrades described in the text under each link:

Help File (zip)                                                                                    SSHelp.zip

Download this file and place it into the StatScan folder it can then be run from the ''About'' Menu in StatScan' (Installs automatically with latest full V3 upgrades below.)

It will also fit on a floppy disk if you need to take it with you.
Just double click it to open it - it runs faster if copied to hard drive though

Latest Upgrades - standalone version 3c                                 Study35c.exe

(for NETWORK version see below)

This link will either download or run an installer programme that upgrades The StudyScan Suite to the latest version 3.5c.

It will rewrite all of the ini files to take account of any changes made to the folder names after initial installation. It will install the latest QuickScan which adds a dyspraxia diagnostic item to the QuickScan report.

Latest Upgrades - network version 3n                                     Study35n.exe

It will rewrite all of the ini files to take account of any changes made to the folder names after initial installation. It will install the latest QuickScan which adds a dyspraxia diagnostic item to the QuickScan report.

So far it seems compatible with all major network configurations.

Novell Netware NDPS printing systems may require the addition of a bindery print queue at the root of the NDPS Tree.  In this case we recommend establishing a separate login for the programme which captures and releases the printer as needed. (This applies to the main programme too).  In Netware the printer object path must not be longer than 66 characters and must not contain any spaces.

Stand Alone Machine System Restorer                                     SSSystem.exe

This link will either download or run an installer programme that restores The StudyScan Suite system files if they have been destroyed by a re-installation of Windows. This avoids the need to re-install the whole program.

This file is already present on CDs released after May 2001.

It should be run directly from the CD Network Installation Options Panel.

RepScan - Utility for converting reports to HTML                       Repscan2.exe

This link will either download or run an installer programme that installs RepScan - a utility available on the CD - for converting reports from StudyScan and QuickScan into HTML format. Please be aware that any files you create using RepScan must be kept safe by you as they will be outside of the reach of StatScan's password security.

Changes to the program made by the Version 3 Upgrade

In addition to the changes made in version 2, the Version 3 upgrade makes QuickScan reports simpler to read, introducing a more bullet point style and simplifying the vocabulary used in the original report.

New diagnostic item for dyspraxia added to QuickScan.

New Helpfile which runs in Windows Vista.

QuickScan File Copier to copy data to memory stick or other disk drives.

From a technical viewpoint, version 3 no longer needs any local system file permissions and only needs modify rights to its own data folder, so making it possible for network administrators to operate the programme with the optimum security we can currently achieve.
